What you’ll be doing?
Design that solves, leads, and delivers. You'll be responsible for leading projects end-to-end independently and with the director.
This role requires leadership capabilities and will suit someone comfortable leading the agenda on projects and frequently taking the initiative.
The role
This is a senior-level position that sits at the intersection of design craft, client ownership, and project leadership. You'll be the primary point of contact for multiple clients, responsible for understanding them and their business deeply. You will be responsible for directing how we respond to them — creatively and strategically across communication challenges and business bottlenecks.
You'll plan and manage projects from kick-off to delivery, coordinate the work of other designers and developers, and step in hands-on whenever the work demands it. You'll be presenting ideas, managing expectations, and making decisions — not just executing them.
Client & project ownership
- Serving as the primary contact for a portfolio of client relationships
- Running discovery, briefing and scoping conversations with clients
- Planning projects: scoping work, setting timelines, managing budgets and resource
- Using your experience to proactively manage potential challenges
- Presenting and pitching concepts confidently, with clear rationale
- Managing feedback cycles and keeping projects on track
Team coordination
- Briefing and coordinating designers and developers on your projects
- Reviewing and giving constructive feedback on work produced by the team
- Helping develop less experienced team members
- Working closely with the Creative Director
Design & craft
- Presentation and report design
- Branding and identity
- Editorial and typographic design
- Information graphics and data visualisation
- Designs for web and software
- UX design and system flows
- Content and visual ideation
- AI-assisted image and UI generation
Things you'll likely develop here
- Deep experience running complex, multi-stakeholder client relationships
- Commercial confidence: costing, resourcing, and managing project profitability
- Strategic thinking — helping clients define problems, not just solve them
- Leadership instincts: how to brief, motivate, and elevate a team
- A broader design vocabulary across sectors you may not have worked in before
Why might this job be good for you?
- You want to grow into a senior voice at a small agency, not disappear into a large one
- You want to develop your leadership skills
- You want to challenge yourself with a broader set of client sectors
- You seek meaningful work for clients doing ground breaking work in sectors that have a big impact on the world
- You’re not ready to start your own agency, but you want to develop your business acumen and learn directly from a business owner on a daily basis
Are we a good match?
The role would suit you if...
- your focus is well balanced between content and aesthetics and you approach those two in that order
- you feel comfortable discussing, presenting and pitching ideas and concepts in large groups
- you’re articulate, able to demonstrate and provide reasoned rational for your ideas and designs and those of other teammates
- you have a high attention to detail, good memory, and an ability to assimilate information quickly.
- you have an intellectual curiosity and a hunger for knowledge
- you enjoy your assumptions being challenged
